Blast Public Relations and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls enjoyed our first outing with The Boys and Girls Club of the Austin Area over the weekend. During the field trip, nearly 15 smart girls between the ages of 8-13 had the opportunity to listen, learn and make art with Austin artist Faith Schexnayder. Faith shared stories about how she became an artist, her love for “found objects,” which she often transforms into art and her collaboration with DJ Stout to make Austin’s infamous BatCow.
Special thanks to Faith, Jessie Lynn Williams, Leith El-Hassan, Tamara Chomin and the great counselors from the Boys and Girls Club for making the event fun and creative. We are looking forward to many more outings.
Next up: Print making? Radio Production? Anything is possible with these smart girls!
