Throughout SXSW, Blast enjoyed spending time and listening to clients and partners from The CMO Club, IAB, eMarketer, SmartBrief, Music Audience Exchange (MAX), MPP Global, AppLift, SheKnows and Mood Media.

Other SXSW highlights included updated activations — The CMO Club’s Club House @ SXSW  move to the W Hotel’s “record room,” MediaLink’s adjacent activation and true-blue favorites like GSD&M’s Annual music party and the IAB’s annual Bloody Mary and Bacon member brunch.

The evening after The CMO Club activation wrapped up, Blast, Mood Media and CMO.com attended the Austin Music Award’s 35th Anniversary at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre on Willie Nelson Boulevard. Benefitting SIMS Foundation, this was the first year the awards were conducted in the venue. The historic brand and prestige of the ‘still-Austin laid back’ new location was fitting for both the musicians receiving the awards as well as special guests.

The biggest surprise was Pretender’s Chrissie Hynde drop in. Hynde thrashed her guitar and brought the crowd to their feet for the final songs of the night.
