Have you ever wanted to pick the brain of one of your colleagues and get to know them on a more personal level? As a boutique agency, the employees at Blast certainly know each other well. But with three office locations across the country and a growing team, it’s nice to learn surprising new details about our colleagues. No chain of emails can bring about a true representation of an individual’s personality, so we’re digging a little deeper for our new blog series, “Get To Know a Blaster.”

Meet Kathleen Formidoni, better known to us as “Kat.” Kat is the founder and principal at Blast. Now located in our Santa Barbara, CA headquarters, she started the company in Raleigh, NC more than 15 years ago. It’s an amazing opportunity to have such a strong female role model guiding our agency, and working alongside her partner and long-time friend, Lana McGilvray, the Blasters are getting a first-hand look at how successful and inspiring women in tech can actually be. Let’s get to know a little bit more about Kat…

What big life changes have you recently experienced and how have they affected you? Losing my father 3 years ago and my husband 3 months ago has profoundly changed my outlook on life.  Choosing to seek out happiness during dark days is difficult but a necessary part of life.  Being present and engaged in all aspects of living is an ongoing practice and a gift.
